Shutdown Of LiveSpace, Embracer Group Splits, And More ActivityPub Updates

Week like this makes one think about how and where one conducts their business. To focus on a single platform in growing a community that is within your niche is a great start but, you do need to plan for the eventual fall of that platform. What happens when the platform you've started streaming to fails within a year? Do you have a secondary location that you can direct your community over to? Do you find a place that is also new to the streaming space? These are just some of the questions many probably were asking themselves this past week and it's a shame that the effects of LiveSpace shutting down might not be felt for a while.

It's not all doom and gloom and I hope that in some way you were affected by the shutdown of LiveSpace. You can get back on your feet and carry on to better outcomes.

Live Streaming Platform News

  • LiveSpace announces they will shut down the site on May 1st, 2024.
Dear community,

It is with heavy hearts we share that LiveSpace will shut down on May 1, 2024, due to rising expenses and our inability to secure the level of investment needed to continue to scale. We are proud to have had thousands of creators call LiveSpace home, and this an extremely hard decision to make.
